PLANETARIUM MANAGER

Planetarium Manager is a free online football management game. You're a football manager in control of your own team, competing in a fantasy league against other human managers or computer-controlled teams (bots).

The game never ends and never stops. It's available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can login and check on your team whenever you want, and the game will keep on running even after you log off.

Planetarium Manager is available today in 60 different countries and 28 languages. And we plan to keep on expanding as necessary in the future. If your country or language is still not available, just contact us.

The objective of the game is different from manager to manager. It can be to have one or more players in a national team, to aim for league or cup glory, or simply to achieve stability by raising and training your players properly. You define your own objectives. However, we can say Planetarium Manager is all about starting from the very bottom and achieving planetarium success.

It's your choice… are you ready to embrace this challenge and become the best manager in the Planet?

Next season changes

Based on the feedback we have been gathering from the community as well as with some of the data we have been able to collect so far, we have decided to set the following format for fitness losses, starting next season (including World Cup matches at the beginning of the season)

________________________________________
_________________17 - 23__24 - 30__31 +_
_Friendlies / Cup__ _1%_____2%____3%_
_League__________ _2%_____3%____4%_
_NTeams___________2%_____3%____4%_
_Cup PIC___________0%_____1%____2%_
_League PIC______ _0%_____1%____2%_
_Cup MOTS_________2%_____3%____4%_
_League MOTS______3%_____4%____5%_
_NTeams PIC_______0%_____1%____2%_
_NTeams MOTS_____3%_____4%____5%_

(values for playing the full time of the game)

Basically the changes are mainly on players with 31 (and more) years old. They will now loose a little bit less fitness than before (roughly less 1% on each type of game). MOTS in league and national team matches have been reduced quite a bit as well. Everything else remains the same.

We have also prepared some other changes:
- If a National Team plays in PIC, the experience players get will be reduced as well. Under these conditions the experience gained by a player will be exactly the same to the experience gain they would get a normal league match.
- The PIC indication at the report will only be shown to you, meaning that in a game where two teams played PIC you won't be able to see that information through the match report unless one of the teams is yours (and you'll only see if your team played PIC, not your rival's information)!
- The fitness level of players that don't belong to your team will be shown through text. If you are a National Team manager you will only have access to the numeric value once you have released the squad. Here's the relation: From 0% to 20%: Drained ; From 21% to 49%: Very Tired ; From 50% to 79%: Tired ; From 80% to 100%: Fit

We'd like to leave a few words about the PIC option as some users have been questioning us lately about it. Well, for us, PIC is an important feature to optimize training. As we all should understand, those who want to optimize training can't expect to win all the time. Or else we would leave the established teams in a very good position. So PIC is a valid strategy for training optimization but it will have a downside. And this is exactly something we always want in the game: different strategies will have different advantages and downsides at the same time.
Also you might be wondering why reducing experience in National Team matches when PIC is used? The answer is simple: National Teams don't allow players to train (so PIC is not a strategy here for NTs) and get a lot of experience at the cost of fitness. If one wants to remove the disadvantage of NTs for players, you can't expect to keep the same advantages.

The reason to "hide" PIC's is to avoid that those "PIC" agreements to become a normal practice. So, from now on, everybody that wants to use this "policy" as a common practice, use it at your own risk. We are perfectly aware that probably this won't put and end to these agreements but, starting next season, as said, there will be an extra risk involved.

A final note to remind you about the Development News. Any minor change will be reported there. From time to time don't forget to take a look at this page in case you want to know about things that are done but not important enough to require a first-page announcement.

PS: we'd also like to mention most (if not all) of these changes were suggested by us by users, in the suggestions forum and elsewhere. We'd like to thank those users and remember all others: your suggestions are important and relevant to the development of the game. Please don't be afraid to do it.

Portugal as World Champion... again!

The seventh World Cup has ended and once again we had the same champion: Portugal! It's the fourth WC in a row where the Portuguese lads are able to grab the title. Curiously in 3 occasions we had the same finalist: Italy. It is, therefore, safe to say, that these countries have been dominating the PM National Teams scene: so congratulations for the communities for this (and to their former managers as well!).

We had a solid World Cup, with some great tactical clashes along the way, but at the end, as said, Portugal managed to grab the title. So we'd like to congratulate, Zorro28 for this achievement. His name will be forever in the Hall of World Champions. Also a word of merit for 9 Il Presidente, the Italian manager, that managed to be up the Italian standards and got to the final decision.

Today the election results for the new National Team managers are known. Good luck for everyone running for these positions!

Match Events Changes

After months of hard work we are finally happy to announce that,
starting the very first day of this new season, new features to the
match (engine) events are available. Lets go through the list of
changes:
- Two new event types: change player position and swap players
positions. All very easy to understand and apply: at any time of
the match you can directly set a player to play in another position
of the field. This will easily allow you to set new formations during
the match and having full flexibility when doing it. This also means
that the old formation event was discontinued (you can use this
new one). Also with the second event you can change swap players
position by simply setting the two players on the event.

- Two new features in the substitution event: set the new position
for the player that will enter on the field (the same or any of the
other field positions). Set the priority of the substitution: high
priority if you want the keep the "new" player out of injury
(automatic) replacements or normal if you want to keep the
player available for injury subs.

- Possibility to involve the same player in several events
(either subs, change position and swap players)

- Possibility to create all the substitution events you want
(despite only 3 will happen in the match, so be careful)

- End of the "Goalkeeper" restriction on substitutions. Especially
useful if you have a GK playing in a field position.

- You can now replace a player that had been brought in
previously in the match.

- A new trigger condition: sent off. Once a player is sent off,
you'll be able to set any match event you want. You just need
to indicate the sent off position - for example: if a central
defender is sent off I want to set a specific event.

- In style and preferred side events you now don't have
the obligation to create new events with different values from those in your match orders.

- In the result condition you now have: Losing / Drawing
and Winning / Drawing

- New options in the goal difference condition: 1 or more,
2 or more, 3 or more.

- A minor new feature in the events list page that will allow
you to quickly enable/disable a match event by simply
clicking on the image that gives you this indication.

- An improved design for the pages where you can create,
delete and edit match events.

Naturally these new options will allow you a greater formation
flexibility during the games. However the rules we have for
formations will need to be respected so you will need to be
careful on this or else your events might fail. For example, if
you're playing in 451 and you replace your forward by another
player, having this player indications to go and play as midfielder,
the event won't go through as you can't play without forwards.

Some notes about this development:
- All your current match events were converted to this new format.
This means that all formation events were deleted and that, in
substitutions, all of them were created, by default, with high
priority and with the "Same" position on the new position option.
- The match engine will only load 100 match events in matches
(per team), so be careful with this.
- Naturally we have made our own intensive tests to these features
but we do expect some bugs on the first matches of the season.
We count on your patience to help us deal with the initial mess.
- National team matches won't have these new features yet,
especially the games for the upcoming World Cup. We do expect
to have everything ready once the qualifying & friendly games
re-start on 21/12/2007.
- We have decided not to introduce ATs events for now.
- You might need to clean your browser's cache to be able to see
these new features. Please do it either by going to the advanced
options of your browser of by simply hit Control+F5 in your
browser's window.
- All this new information will be added to the Manual very soon.

Along with these new features we have introduced a new
feature for match reports.
From now on (still not on the NT games, at least not until
21/12/2007 matches)
the match reports will provide you the information about your
zonal ratings on
each minute of the game. There will also be a graphical
representation (in a chart)
so that you can easily make comparisons and get the
information quickly.
We are aware that some will say that will destroy the
advantage some have
in match analysis but we do believe newbies are heavily
affected by this lack of
information. This new information is not available for
previous matches.
A lot of optimizations had been made in the Match Engine
as well as some old
bugs fixed. The list is quite big so we won't even bother
you with it. We can say
that those loops we had in some matches was a serious
structural problem in
the match engine and not a bug itself. It should be solved
from now on.
Another important fix is that substitute players can
now get MOMs.

This is all by now. Keep trusting our job and supporting us:
we love PM
as much as you do!
Please report all the bugs at the Bugs forum and feel free to
put us any
questions on the forums (keep reading the -two -
announcements below).
